SPR,in collaboration with RED Sustainability Consultants, established a Government Programs Technology List for use in programs such as, but not limited to, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation’s Home Energy Upgrade Fund and Green Loans schemes. The initial brief was to review and update the ‘Green Homes’ list of approved activities, as managed at the wholesale level by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and delivered by major retail lenders. Noting the potential utility of the list for a wider range of national programs, the scope was broadened to create a more generic Government Programs Technology List. This list identifies and recommends evidence-based minimum energy/emissions performance requirements for ‘green’ homes, both new and existing, including apartments. Minimum requirements are expressed in terms of NatHERS star ratings,whole-of home points, with/without PV systems, for cooler/mild/warmer climate zones across Australia. It also covers batteries, EV chargers, high performance heat pumps for space conditioning and domestic hot water, ceiling fans, heat recovery ventilation, solar hot water,induction cook-tops, and high-efficiency LED lighting.
